ITOKI CORPORATION designed and built ispace’s new facility, creating a 2-floor workplace with space-themed 6th-floor and Earth-themed 7th-floor areas, connected by a deep crimson central staircase to support organisational change and employee challenges.
ITOKI CORPORATION handled concept development and the interior design and construction of the tenant area as part of ispace’s new facility construction project. The project was published on ITOKI WORK-Style Design, which introduces advanced spatial design examples from a designer’s perspective, and is based on the concept of the “Unfinished Office,” under which offices evolve in line with changes in the business and organisation.
The new facility comprises 2 floors, with the 6th floor designed around the theme of space and the 7th floor around the theme of Earth. A deep crimson central staircase connects the two floors, symbolising ispace’s mission to connect Earth and the Moon. This arrangement encourages collaboration and interaction across both floors.
The 6th floor is a disciplined space expressing the stillness of space and the precision of spacecraft design. The R&D rooms and Mission Control Center feature glass walls, allowing visitors to experience the reality of the development site. The 7th floor envelops the office area in an Earth theme, with the warmth of wood, a café area called “Gravity Zone,” and work areas gently zoned without walls to encourage natural interaction among employees.
The designer is Nagamine Shōju (永峯承受). ITOKI CORPORATION is working to optimise office environments through spatial design from an “AI×Design based on PEOPLE” perspective. This press release contains information for the media.
