DyDo Group Holdings announced its first-half results, reporting operating profit of ¥6.74 billion, up 4.9-fold year on year. Changes in revenue were driven by the business mix in Japan and overseas, while profit posted substantial growth. As a result, the company reviewed its full-year earnings forecast and indicated plans for an upward revision.
In the overseas beverage business, sales at the Turkish subsidiary were strong and continued to contribute to profit. In contrast, although sales in the domestic beverage business have tended to undershoot, the company explained that lower depreciation and progress on measures to improve earnings are expected to lift overall profitability.
As a result, the full-year forecast was raised from its previous level, with the full-year profit plan expected to improve substantially. The company indicated that it intends to maintain higher profitability, supported by trends in domestic and overseas demand and improvements in its cost structure.
The market has responded positively to the earnings update, and the strong performance of the overseas business, particularly in Turkey, together with structural reforms in the domestic business, is increasingly viewed as key to the company's future performance.
