GE Aerospace has agreed to acquire casting manufacturer CPP from investment firms Warburg Pincus and Berkshire Partners. The purchase price is equivalent to approximately ¥1.81 trillion.
Of the acquisition funding, $7 billion will be paid in cash, with the remainder raised through new debt. The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2027.
CPP is a privately held company specializing in advanced cast components for the aerospace and defense markets, with more than 20 facilities. The acquisition will be one of the largest transactions in GE Aerospace’s history.
GE Aerospace’s CEO said the company aims to expand production capacity to meet strong demand for replacement and defense parts, and a valuation including synergies has been disclosed. CPP is valued at approximately 18 times projected 2027 EBITDA, with another view putting the multiple at approximately 26 times excluding synergies.
