ai& and AMD will hold ai& Build Day as part of AMD Advancing AI Japan 2026, comparing open-weight models on ai& inference. Eight teams comprising 40 participants will tackle real-world business challenges in approximately 4.5 hours.
ai& and AMD will hold the one-day “ai& Build Day” hackathon at AMD Advancing AI Japan 2026. Participants will use ai& inference, which provides models on AMD accelerators, to compare whether open-weight models such as Kimi, GLM, Qwen and MiniMax can be applied to real-world business challenges.
Eight teams will work for approximately 4.5 hours to develop working prototypes addressing 8 real-world business challenges brought by AMD’s systems integrator partners. Development will be conducted in both Japanese and English, and the deliverables will be evaluated by captains.
Participation is free, and the application deadline is 9 November 2026 (Monday). Following the application process, the selection results are scheduled to be announced on 13 November (Friday), and the event will be held on 1 December.
ai& inference will be used as the development platform, enabling participants to test models including Kimi, GLM, Qwen and MiniMax via OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
As an “inference-first company” providing inference through domestic infrastructure, ai& emphasizes operations at data centers in Japan and zero data retention.
