Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced that first-quarter revenue increased year on year, while net income more than doubled. In response, it revised its full-year forecasts for fiscal 2027 upward, raising its outlook for revenue and earnings.
In its Q1 2026 results, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. reported revenue of ¥503.448 billion, up from ¥450.763 billion in the same quarter a year earlier, while net income more than doubled year on year to ¥450.92 billion. Citing the weaker yen, the company raised its full-year forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027, projecting revenue of ¥2.415 trillion, operating profit of ¥65.0 billion, net income of ¥480.0 billion and earnings per share of ¥102.75, all above its previous forecasts.
In reassessing the investment story ahead, the outperformance in a single quarter and the upward revision to the full-year forecasts suggest greater stability in the profitability of the automotive business. At the same time, some analysts believe that currency fluctuations and higher costs could affect long-term profit margins.
The company's analysis projects revenue of ¥2.4475 trillion and earnings of ¥923.6 billion through 2029. It also values Honda Motor Co., Ltd. at ¥1,574 per share, implying 6% downside from the current price.
