PTC Japan relocated its Tokyo office from Nishi-Shinjuku to the OVOL Nihonbashi Building in Nihonbashi for the first time in approximately 15 years and began operating under a new organizational structure based in Nihonbashi. Kamiya Tomonobu (神谷知信) described the relocation not as a simple office move, but as a starting point for shaping the future of Japanese manufacturing, and explained that it is one of the company’s strategically important new sites worldwide.
As the geographic rationale for selecting the new office, the company cited Nihonbashi’s history as the starting point of the five major highways established during the Edo period, where people, goods and information have intersected over many years. It emphasized the importance of returning to its roots and fostering creativity through communication. The office concept is Living Harmony, with Bridge and Path as its themes. Its layout is designed to connect people and technology and encourage the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
The new office includes the Japan Experience Center (JXC), a demo center that provides a venue for experiencing and discussing the vision of Intelligent Product Lifecycle (IPL). JXC showcases examples of product lifecycle management for products including construction equipment and luxury vehicles, and is positioned as a base for promoting customer engagement in Japan and the APAC region.
Robert Dada pointed to changes in the market environment and the challenges facing manufacturers, explaining the increasing complexity of hardware and software and the importance of global supply chains. He outlined a policy of advancing the integration of AI into CAD, PLM, ALM and SLM through the IPL strategy, thereby improving the reliability and usability of digital product data.
