NISSHA secured net sales of ¥45.79 billion and operating profit of ¥750 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2026. While its full-year forecast was raised, the second-half forecast was reduced by ¥500 million to reflect Middle East risks.
NISSHA announced its first-quarter results for fiscal 2026, reporting net sales of ¥45.79 billion, down 3.5% year on year, and operating profit of ¥750 million, remaining profitable. Quarterly profit attributable to owners of the parent was ¥422 million, a substantial 331.4% year-on-year increase.
By segment, sales in the Devices business fell sharply to ¥10.4 billion, down 23.3% year on year, while Industrial Materials recorded higher sales. Medical also posted increases in both sales and profit, with net sales of ¥14.134 billion and operating profit of ¥841 million. Growth in mobility exterior components and a recovery in demand for vapor-deposited paper contributed to the results.
The full-year outlook was raised to net sales of ¥198.0 billion, up 1.6% from the previous fiscal year, operating profit of ¥7.0 billion, up 73.3%, and profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥3.2 billion, up 219.4%. First-half net sales were raised to ¥94.0 billion and operating profit to ¥1.8 billion, while the second-half operating profit forecast was reduced from the previous forecast of ¥5.7 billion to ¥5.2 billion to reflect higher raw material costs resulting from a prolonged Middle East situation.
The revision of the foreign-exchange assumptions to ¥155/USD for the second quarter and ¥145/USD for the second half contributed to the higher full-year forecast. While Devices is expected to maintain an operating profit margin in the second quarter at approximately the same level as in the first quarter, acquisition-related expenses are expected to be recorded, with the underlying operating margin estimated at approximately 5%.
