HYBRID, a furniture company in Fukuoka Prefecture, has announced plans to adopt DAIHEN CORPORATION's storage battery package and fully launch its business, starting with the RE.U511 storage facility, a grid-scale storage facility under development in Honjo-machi, Saga City. Operations are scheduled to begin in April 2027.
HYBRID has announced a structure based in the development area in Saga Prefecture under which Green Energy Power will oversee the development, construction and operation of grid-scale storage facilities on an integrated basis. The facility's rated output will be 2MW and its storage capacity 8MWh. The initial RE.U511 storage facility has been designed with operations in Honjo-machi, Saga City, in mind. Operations are targeted to begin in April 2027.
The equipment selected includes DAIHEN CORPORATION's storage battery package for storage facilities, configured with PCS units and transformers. DAIHEN CORPORATION has announced that this package has obtained the JC-STAR ★1 conformity label, and incorporates cybersecurity considerations for control and operation via IoT.
HYBRID will serve as the dedicated EPC contractor. Green Energy Power, as the project operator, is expected to handle land acquisition and dealings with government authorities, grid connection, design, equipment selection and procurement, construction, commissioning, inspection and completion as an integrated process. After operations begin, RE-100 Power is expected to handle aggregation and operation and maintenance.
The acquisition of the JC-STAR ★1 conformity label was reported as an announcement made as of October 2025. The storage battery package includes storage batteries, PCS units and transformers. The project is positioned as part of efforts to commercialize grid-scale storage facilities, against the backdrop of Unifact, which sells and wholesales furniture and general merchandise, entering the power generation business.
