The afternoon session brought news of JEOL's lower investment rating, METAWATER's new construction contract, Rakuten Group's autonomous golf cart pilot project, さいか屋's share exchange ratio, 桜島埠頭's lower first-half profit forecast and Aiming's overseas licensing agreement.
JEOL changed its investment rating from “Equal-weight” to “Underweight” at Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities and cut its target price from ¥7,100 to ¥7,000. The firm believes the risk-reward profile for semiconductor manufacturing equipment is unattractive and is concerned that the recovery in long-term demand could be delayed.
METAWATER signed a ¥1.6005 billion construction contract with the Japan Sewage Works Agency for electrical equipment work at the Sakawagawa Basin Sewerage Left-Bank Treatment Plant. The construction period is scheduled to run from 19 September 2026 to 18 March 2030.
Rakuten Group announced that it had begun a pilot project aimed at commercializing autonomous golf cart services. It has partnered with Mitsubishi Electric, Aisan Technology and Energy System Service Japan, combining cameras, LiDAR, GPS and other sensors to enable autonomous travel along designated routes.
さいか屋 set the share exchange ratio with AFC-HDアムスライフサイエンス at 10:3. Based on closing prices, the theoretical share price was ¥262, and the stock moved sharply following the announcement of the ratio.
桜島埠頭 revised its consolidated operating profit forecast for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 2027 down from the previous ¥140 million to ¥4 million. The revision reflected delays in the arrival of bulk cargo during the second half and the timing of recognizing special handling fees for liquid cargo, while the full-year forecast was left unchanged.
Aiming signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Singapore-based RGS Online for the smartphone online RPG “The Eminence in Shadow: Master of Garden” in Thailand and Vietnam. The impact is already reflected in its cumulative forecast through Q3 of the fiscal year ending March 2026.
