Rengo announced on the 17th that its Thai joint venture had acquired a 90% stake in the local corrugated-box manufacturer ジンジョンファ・ペーパー・インダストリアル. The investment amount was not disclosed, and the move is intended to strengthen local supply capacity through business expansion.
The acquisition target is located in eastern Thailand, where industrial estates and international ports are driving growth in demand for export products. The deal is expected to help Rengo develop its corrugated-box supply network in Thailand.
Including affiliated companies, the number of Rengo's factories in Thailand will rise to 33 following the acquisition, reportedly accounting for about half of its factories across Southeast Asia. The company plans to expand its business in the growing market to meet rising demand.
Rengo regards Thailand as an important base and is reportedly seeking to expand its business in Southeast Asia by strengthening its local production capacity through the acquisition.
