Chosfox has revealed the full design of its new 40% keyboard, Init40, on its official X account. The information currently available outlines a configuration featuring a row-staggered layout and low-profile switches.
Chosfox revealed the full design of its new Init40 keyboard on its official X account on 13 August 2026. Init40 is described as a 40% low-profile model with a layout different from that of the previous Geonix series.
According to the information released, Init40 has a conventional arrangement of keys such as Esc, Tab and Shift on the left, while the number of keys on the right has been substantially reduced, indicating that it is designed for layer-based operation. It uses low-profile switches, and the case appears to be made of CNC-machined aluminum.
The main specifications disclosed so far are the product name, Init40; a 40% layout; a row-staggered arrangement; low-profile switches; and an apparently aluminum case. The sale price, release date, connectivity method and supported firmware remain undisclosed.
Greenkeys has previously covered Chosfox's teaser information, and has noted that Init40 could expand the range of options in 40% row-staggered keyboards. Further specifications and release timing are expected to attract attention in future official announcements.
