Malteurop will acquire the Chunlei Malting Co. malting plant to strengthen its malting and logistics capabilities in China. The acquisition is expected to be completed in summer 2026. Located near Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, the plant has annual malt production capacity of 220,000 tonnes.
Malteurop, part of the VIVESCIA cooperative group, will strengthen its malting operations in China and its position in export markets by acquiring the Chunlei Malting Co. plant. The acquisition is expected to be completed in summer 2026, with the company planning to expand its local manufacturing and logistics footprint.
The target facility is located near Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, and has annual malt production capacity of 220,000 tonnes. The acquisition will enable Malteurop to increase its supply capacity for brewing ingredients and strengthen collaboration with local partner companies.
The plant's production process is designed with a focus on reducing carbon emissions. Its heat is supplied entirely by locally sourced biomass, mainly rice straw, while its use of renewable electricity from wind and solar power, combined with battery storage, is also a notable feature.
