The online seminar “Equal Pay for Equal Work: Practical Review Seminar” for small and medium-sized companies will be held on Thursday, 22 October 2026. It will explain practical points for developing criteria to prevent disparities in treatment concerning the non-payment of bonuses to part-time employees.
社会保険労務士法人とうかい has announced that it will hold an online seminar for small and medium-sized companies ahead of the application of the equal pay for equal work rules. The seminar will explain practical pitfalls concerning the non-payment of bonuses and various allowances, and provide guidance on developing reasonable criteria and practical measures to protect companies.
The rules concerning equal pay for equal work will be revised from 1 October 2026. It has been pointed out that, in workplaces at small and medium-sized companies, some companies continue not to pay bonuses or allowances simply on the grounds that part-time employees perform different work from regular employees. Such practices could lead to employee inquiries or claims that the disparity is unreasonable, requiring business owners and human resources personnel to make appropriate judgments.
Based on actual cases, the seminar will explain how to develop criteria to prevent unreasonable disparities in treatment and practical measures to protect companies. It is expected to introduce specific procedures and decision-making points for ensuring the proper administration of bonuses and allowances.
The instructor will be Akatsuka Shunsuke (赤塚俊亮) of the Advisory Team at 社会保険労務士法人とうかい, a specialist who supports the development of work rules through handling initial consultations. The seminar will be held online via Zoom, and participation is free.
