Nomura Securities published the top 20 stocks ranked by number of trades, based on closing prices as of 2 October 2026, among stocks bought through its individual accounts between 1 July and 30 September 2026 that had a current-year forecast dividend yield of 3% or more.
The Japanese stock market showed signs of recovery in August after a sharp decline in semiconductor and AI-related stocks in July, but overall price movements slowed in September. Against this market backdrop, an analysis was conducted of stock purchases through Nomura Securities' individual accounts to identify stocks with high current-year dividend yields.
The analysis covered the period from 1 July to 30 September 2026. Eligible stocks had a current-year forecast dividend yield of 3% or more, and closing prices were based on those as of 2 October 2026. The top 20 stocks by number of trades were listed, together with each stock's name, code, closing share price, forecast annual dividend, forecast dividend yield and current fiscal year-end.
The top five were NTT, Toyota Motor, Nippon Steel, Tokio Marine Holdings and Sony Financial Group. All had yields above 3%, with their forecast annual dividend per share as of that date and current fiscal year-end also shown.
