SHINING 3D has launched EinScan Trak, a wireless dual-form markerless 3D tracking system. The company has unveiled new functionality that enables a single system to scan objects ranging from large items to confined spaces and small parts.
SHINING 3D has launched EinScan Trak, a new wireless 3D tracking system. The system is designed to reduce the on-site preparation burden involved in 3D scanning large objects.
EinScan Trak tracks position and orientation using reflective markers built into its spherical scanner, without requiring markers to be attached to the object. This allows tracking to be maintained across large surfaces with few distinguishing features. Examples include scanning automobile bonnets, hulls and other broad, smooth surfaces without markers.
The system uses a dual-form design with two work modes. Tracking Mode captures large objects across a wide area, while Handheld Scanner Mode enables flexible scanning of confined spaces, interiors and small parts. This creates a new 3D scanning workflow that combines the overall object with areas of importance.
The system supports resolutions of up to 0.05 mm and can combine data from Tracking Mode and Handheld Scanner Mode into a single model. Laser modes and resolution can be switched locally, with data integration performed through EXScan Trak. The system also supports integration with the EXModel Series and EXMeasure.
The product supports the full 3D digitisation workflow and is intended for a wide range of applications, including the digitisation of cultural assets and artworks, jig design and reverse engineering.
