The Nikkei 225 fell sharply toward the end of the session on the 6th, following the steep decline in US stocks the previous day. Selling also intensified in data-center-related stocks amid a steep drop in the US SOX Index, with some market observers saying that investor sentiment had deteriorated.
The Nikkei 225 was sharply lower from the previous day, standing at ¥57,858.61 as of 11:30, down ¥3,219.29. Declining stocks continued to far outnumber advancing stocks, with Taiyo Yuden, SCREEN Holdings and Daikin Industries the only 3 positive contributors.
