For the latest three-month period, the operating margin on net sales improved substantially, from 5.8% in the same period a year earlier to 9.0%. This lifted profitability in the first quarter.
For the current first half, the company forecasts net sales of ¥1,001,321 million, ordinary profit of ¥1,058 million and net income of ¥734 million. Compared with the same period a year earlier, net sales are expected to increase, while ordinary profit and net income are expected to remain at relatively high levels.
