Makuake shares turned lower after rising early in the session, following reports that the company had raised its standalone operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending September 2026. Some analysts attributed the intensified selling into strength to the impact of rising global interest rates, despite the upwardly revised forecast.
Crowdfunding company Makuake rose approximately 7% early in the session before falling to ¥918, down ¥49, or 5.06%, from the previous day. As of 9:50 a.m., the company was reported to be forecasting standalone operating profit of ¥860 million for the fiscal year ending September 2026, above the upper end of its previous forecast range of ¥670 million to ¥800 million. The upward revision was cited as the reason for the move.
However, some analysts also attributed the intensified profit-taking to headwinds facing growth stocks amid rising global interest rates. Further developments are expected to focus on progress toward achieving the current-year forecast and additional market reactions.
