Kitakyushu City will issue free one-day passes, sell Kitakyushu premium taxi vouchers and distribute paper tickets for outing transportation to encourage people to go out and use public transport. The campaign will run in two phases from 17 July 2026 to 11 January 2027.
Kitakyushu City's Public Transport Outings Campaign is intended to promote public transport use among residents and create more opportunities to go out. Eligible operators are Nishitetsu Bus, Kitakyushu Municipal Bus, Kitakyushu Monorail and Chikuhō Electric Railroad, with the same service areas as each operator's one-day pass.
Free one-day passes can be obtained through the “my route” smartphone app and will be available from 17 July 2026 to 11 January 2027. Up to 2 days' worth can be obtained in the first phase and up to 10 days' worth in the second phase, with validity extending for 15 days including the date of acquisition.
Kitakyushu premium taxi vouchers provide ¥3,000 worth of taxi fares for ¥2,000. They will be sold through a lottery and in-person sales. The second-phase lottery will run from 1 to 12 October 2026, with redemption from 16 to 22 October, while first-come, first-served sales will begin on 16 October.
Paper tickets for outing transportation will be distributed in all 10 districts from 17 July 2026 to 11 January 2027. Each person may receive up to 1 booklet per district, containing 6 rides. Free tickets received on board can be used from the next trip onward.
