WOWOW recorded foreign exchange gains as non-operating income during the cumulative second quarter from 1 April to 30 September 2026. It also announced the differences between the forecast and actual results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, as well as revisions to its full-year earnings forecast.
During the cumulative second quarter from 1 April to 30 September 2026, the company recorded ¥494 million in foreign exchange gains arising from currency fluctuations as non-operating income. These gains were attributed to the effects of forward exchange contracts on foreign-currency-denominated liabilities and revaluation.
For the consolidated and non-consolidated results for the same period, consolidated revenue was below the previous forecast, while operating profit exceeded it due to lower expenses. Ordinary profit and interim net profit are expected to exceed the previous forecast, in addition to the upside in operating profit, due to the contribution from foreign exchange gains.
Under the revision to the full-year forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, revenue is expected to exceed the previous forecast because WOWOW Lemino became a consolidated subsidiary from the third quarter onward. However, expenses are expected to increase as the company expands its business, and consolidated operating profit is expected to fall below the previous forecast. On a non-consolidated basis, revenue is expected to exceed the previous forecast due to increased intra-group transactions, while net profit is expected to fall below the previous forecast because of year-end tax adjustments and other factors. In addition, from the third quarter, WOWOW and WOWOW Lemino will disclose their paid subscriber numbers on a combined basis following the transfer of Lemino and a review of the subscriber plan.
