Kajima Corporation modernized the AWS infrastructure it designed around 2014, moving from an environment limited to EC2 and RDS to a company-wide shared cloud infrastructure. It expanded the range of services to approximately 30 while balancing guardrails with development flexibility.
Kajima Corporation reviewed its legacy AWS environment and undertook a project to build a company-wide shared cloud infrastructure. Initially, use was limited to EC2 and RDS, while operating through a single account made it difficult to manage costs and understand usage by business unit.
From 2025 to 2026, Kajima Corporation implemented AWS usage guidelines, a multi-account design, guardrails using SCPs and RCPs, account management through IAM Identity Center, and centralized monitoring with Security Hub. After operations began, usage and costs by business unit became visible, and cost optimization progressed.
As of September 2026, 4 projects are in operation on the new system. The range of available services has expanded to approximately 30, and consultations on development using AI services and in-house development are increasing. Going forward, Kajima Corporation aims to further expand the range of services and pursue initiatives such as compliance checks using AI agents.
