SUNKEAN participated in a joint product proposal session with 5 companies hosted by YUASA CO.,LTD., presenting copper and aluminum cables and connection solutions for battery storage facilities in Japan. S-JET certification for the 3.3kV and 6.6kV copper and aluminum cables is scheduled to be obtained by the end of 2026.
At the ANA InterContinental Hotel Tokyo in Japan, SUNGROW, meteocontrol, PANDUIT and YUASA joined SUNKEAN in a 5-company joint proposal session, where SUNKEAN introduced copper and aluminum cables and connection solutions for the construction of battery storage systems.
The proposed lineup covers the connection from the direct connection between the battery storage system and PCS on the DC side through to the power receiving and transforming equipment and the grid. It includes cables compatible with DC1500V and low-voltage, high-current copper and aluminum cables. The 3.3kV and 6.6kV high-voltage cables are scheduled to obtain S-JET certification by the end of 2026.
Connection methods for aluminum cables were presented, combining low-voltage bimetal terminals and PANDUIT and TE products with high-voltage termination materials. The proposals were designed to support implementation.
The companies indicated a policy of further expanding cable products and connection solutions for grid-scale battery storage facilities and contributing to the development of Japan's renewable energy market.
