Ashimori Industry, a group company of TOYODA GOSEI, announced plans to build a new plant in Shimotsuke, Tochigi Prefecture, to produce rehabilitation materials for sewer pipelines. The site will cover approximately 31,400 square meters, with buildings covering approximately 7,700 square meters, and the investment will total approximately ¥6 billion. Production is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2028.
The new plant will produce liners that form a new pipe inside existing pipelines and will introduce the Partem L-UV method, which uses ultraviolet light to cure the material, compared with conventional methods. This is expected to shorten installation time by approximately 30%, while reducing the use of boiler vehicles and labor requirements. The company plans to expand sales in Kanto, Tohoku and Hokkaido by capitalizing on the method's advantages in cold regions.
The company aims to meet growing demand for pipeline rehabilitation as the new method gains wider adoption and has released an artist's rendering of the completed plant. It said it will continue to disclose information on future business developments.
