After the close of trading on the 7th, 日本色材工業研究所 revised downward its consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending February 2027. Selling pressure emerged in the stock, and investor concern has spread.
The downward revision to the new plan was attributed to sluggish shipments in the domestic cosmetics market and the impact of various forms of inflation, including inflation in products derived from crude oil. The company also explained that the slowdown in shipments by cosmetics manufacturers and insufficient pass-through of costs into prices had an impact.
Compared with the previous outlook, which was based on expectations for growth from the fiscal year ended February 2022 onward, net sales were revised downward to ¥18,328 million, up 10.1% year on year; operating profit to ¥261 million, 4.5 times the previous fiscal year; and net income to ¥10 million, down 70.1% year on year.
