Taiwanese market research firm Wise Research has published a report on the overseas expansion of companies involved in equipment and installation for semiconductor fabs. As AI demand drives fab construction and production of advanced packaging increases, the report points to the potential for factory construction equipment technology to become a new export sector.
According to the report, Taiwan’s market for the maintenance and installation of electronic and semiconductor production equipment reached NT$65.3 billion in 2025, up 16.66% year on year and a record high. The market also maintained double-digit growth in January-April 2026, rising 13.62% year on year to NT$22.9 billion.
The report identified 3 strengths of Taiwanese companies: “system integration capabilities,” which enable the integrated management of quality and project schedules across multiple types of equipment; secondary piping technology, which connects specialty gases and other systems to production equipment; and construction and technology development using digital twins. Factory infrastructure company 漢唐集成 has won a construction contract in Singapore, while 聚賢研發, which specializes in secondary piping, has established subsidiaries in Japan, the United States, Germany and Singapore.
The report analyzes that Japanese companies with a track record of being adopted by Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturers may have opportunities to supply equipment to overseas fabs and win construction contracts.
