Hitachi, Ltd. Senior Executive Officer Kato Tomomi (加藤 知巳) said at the 28 October earnings briefing that the power business was expected to continue growing through around 2035. Although the growth rate may decline, he said he did not expect a significant decrease in the near term.
Factors supporting growth include the renewal of aging substations and transmission networks, as well as increased demand associated with data center development. These sources of demand are expected to support the foundation of the power-related business over the medium to long term.
Some have pointed to overheating in data center investment by AI-related companies, but Kato Tomomi (加藤 知巳) said the company was not aware of any delays in its data center-related business at present.
