The Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s food allergy seminar will be held online for food-service operators and will be available from 10:00 a.m. on 18 November to 11:59 p.m. on 18 December. The lectures will be given by Imai Takanari (今井孝成), professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Showa Medical University School of Medicine and director of the university hospital’s Pediatric Medical Center.
The program also includes a lecture on measures for small food-service establishments, with Shimada Hiroyuki (島田博行) of SLD Entertainment Inc. explaining food allergy measures that can be implemented even at small outlets. Imamura Shintaro (今村慎太郎), chair of the NPO Allergy Kids Papa Association, will also give a lecture on responding from both perspectives: what people want to know and what they need to communicate.
In addition, an official from the Food Labeling Division of the Consumer Affairs Agency will explain information provision in the foodservice and prepared-food sectors, while an official from the Food Monitoring Division of the Health and Safety Department at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Bureau of Public Health will explain how to use allergy communication sheets. Details on how to apply are available on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s official website.
