Bandai Namco Holdings holds approximately ¥412.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents, an increase of approximately ¥50 billion from the end of the previous fiscal year. The company maintains a financial position close to debt-free while explaining the stability of its IP business centered on Gundam.
Bandai Namco Holdings' cash and cash equivalents stood at ¥412.416 billion at the end of fiscal 2025, an increase of approximately ¥50 billion from the end of the previous fiscal year. The company also has very little interest-bearing debt and has secured strongly positive net cash, amounting to what is considered an effectively debt-free financial position.
Regarding the reasons for maintaining ample cash and deposits, President Asako Yuki (浅古有寿) explains that supporting a business that does not provide essential goods requires constant new challenges. The company is therefore said to have had no need to raise capital through debt-dependent or equity-like financing. Its equity ratio remains high, in the 70% range, and the company intends to engage in dialogue with the market regarding its accountability for holding cash.
The company's business is fundamentally a "hit-driven business." Built around IP such as Mobile Suit Gundam and The Idolmaster, it operates across plastic models, games, visual media and music, and amusement facilities. In the latest April-June quarter of 2026, sales of Gundam-related products and trading cards are said to have supported earnings, while the business continues to be susceptible to market conditions. At Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, a pavilion making use of the Gundam IP is expected to be one of the main attractions.
