Kanro's revenue for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2026 rose 4.4% year on year to ¥17.454 billion, with gummies supporting growth in its core business as the company develops its next growth pillar.
Kanro's results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2026 included revenue of ¥17.454 billion, up 4.4% year on year, with the strength of its gummy business offsetting a decline in throat lozenges. Within the gummy business, "Pure Gummy" struggled to grow, while the "Kanro The Strong" series performed well and is expected to become a pillar of future growth.
The company believes that the gummy market, which has maintained strong growth for many years, has entered a new phase. At an interim results presentation held on 31 July, President Murata Tetsuya (村田 哲也) said that the gummy market was entering a period of stable growth and that the company would shift course toward its next phase of growth.
The gum and candy market is capturing new demand against a backdrop of growing health consciousness and a wider range of consumption occasions, while companies are strengthening categories outside gummies and launching new series. Examples discussed included UHA Mikakuto's gummy supplements, Lotte's Xylitol and Kabaya Foods' new brand initiatives, as companies expand their product offerings in response to growing health awareness.
The feature covering Kanro and other companies also introduced initiatives by Asahi Group Foods, including Mintia, Mars Japan's Skittles and Meiji's Kajitsu Gummy. It reported on first-half fiscal 2026 results and the effects of launching new flavors.
