三越伊勢丹 Group is developing AI agents in parallel with the modernisation of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, with the aim of applying AI agents to core operations. The first initiative is supplier master registration for managing business partner information for domestic department stores.
The decision to develop AI agents ahead of the new system’s launch, rather than wait for it to go live, reflects an intention not to carry the existing, labour-intensive workflows over to the new system without review.
At the “Oracle AI Forum” event hosted by 日本オラクル, representatives from the finance and accounting and IT departments introduced their initiatives to modernise the ERP and apply AI agents.
Interviews conducted after the presentations provided a picture of the operational reforms being pursued by the group.
