Trading during the morning session saw moves in many stocks, including a narrowing loss at ラピーヌ, a sharp drop and newly established subsidiary at VRAIN, and additional investment by オキサイド.
ラピーヌ reported a consolidated net loss of ¥80 million for the first half of the fiscal year ending February 2027, compared with a ¥170 million loss in the same period a year earlier, narrowing the loss. Gains on the sale of investment securities were cited as a factor behind the improvement.
VRAIN Solution plunged. First-half operating profit for the fiscal year ending February 2027 was ¥410 million, up 4.3-fold year on year, but progress against the full-year forecast of ¥1.45 billion was only 28.2%. The order backlog was ¥1.308 billion. The company also announced that it would establish VRAIN Career, a subsidiary operating a fee-based employment placement business, in October. The subsidiary will be wholly funded by the company with capital of ¥8 million, and is scheduled to begin operations during the current fiscal year.
オキサイド fell sharply for the first time in four sessions. It will make an additional investment of ¥840 million to expand production capacity for Faraday rotators used in optical communications components for data centers. Equipment is scheduled to be installed at the sixth plant in Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture, with operations expected to begin in the second half of the fiscal year ending February 2027. Although demand is expected to rise with the spread of generative AI, the impact on the share price is considered limited.
GameWith's first-quarter operating result swung to a loss of ¥126 million. Page views remained solid, but advertising revenue declined as the per-page-view unit price fell and fewer major titles were released. Higher AI-related expenses also had an impact.
セイワHD raised its full-year adjusted operating profit forecast to ¥2.0 billion. First-quarter adjusted operating profit was ¥330 million, up 10.1% year on year, while operating profit fell sharply to ¥150 million. The forecast incorporates the contribution from making a company a consolidated subsidiary, with no change to the outlook for existing businesses.
PRISM BioLab did not achieve a significant improvement in the primary endpoint in a Phase 2 trial of PRI-724, a drug candidate for cirrhosis. The stock edged higher, but the news is viewed cautiously as a catalyst.
