The section of the E16 Yokohama-Yokosuka Road between Sahara IC and Mabori-Kaigan IC will be closed to traffic from 00:00 to 12:00 on 22 November for the Yokosuka Seaside Marathon and pavement repair work.
NEXCO East Japan's Keihin Maintenance Office announced that both directions of the E16 Yokohama-Yokosuka Road between Sahara IC and Mabori-Kaigan IC would be closed to traffic. Planned traffic restrictions will be implemented because the Yokosuka Seaside Marathon and pavement repair work will take place at the same time.
The closure applies to a section with one lane in each direction. As the work cannot be carried out under ordinary lane restrictions, the mainline will be closed while the work is performed. The work is scheduled to be carried out intensively and efficiently during the marathon period.
The purpose of the work is to maintain the expressway in good condition. The work includes pavement repairs, road inspections and conversion to LED lighting. It has been announced as a necessary measure to ensure safe and comfortable use of the road.
