As concerns over rising interest rates receded, risk-on buying returned, with stronger buying concentrated in AI- and semiconductor-related stocks. SoftBank Group rose, while domestic-demand stocks were relatively weak.
As of 2 p.m., trading value on the TSE Prime Market was approximately ¥4.7495 trillion, and trading volume was approximately 1.37177 billion shares. Stocks standing out for their gains included Tokyo Electron, Fast Retailing, Fujikura and TDK, while Murata Manufacturing, Nitto Denko, Kyocera and Nichirei traded lower.
