ヤマシンフィルタ and ミツフジ announced a capital and business alliance. The companies will jointly advance the practical implementation of clothing-worn biometric devices and electromagnetic-wave shielding using nanofiber technology.
Through their capital and business alliance, the two companies aim to expand the applications of nanofiber technology. Beyond its use as filter media, they are exploring the potential to create new value through functions such as heat insulation and electromagnetic shielding.
ヤマシンフィルタ has been developing applications for nanofibers and began an initiative in collaboration with Shinshu University in May 2026. Nanofibers are said to offer a range of functions beyond their use in hydraulic filters.
In the wearable-device field, the companies aim to realize clothing-worn devices that provide accurate electrode-based biometric data in a form suited to everyday use. Drawing on ミツフジ's AGposs conductive fibers and experience in device development, they will jointly advance practical implementation.
To address electromagnetic noise and heat dissipation at data centers, the companies have proposed electromagnetic-wave shielding filters made from nanofibers. Optimization for different frequency bands remains a challenge, but the two companies plan to pursue initiatives that adapt the technology to market needs and technological advances.
