Korea's Samyang Group designated internal candidates Vice President Kim Ji-seop (金智燮) and Food Group Head Jeong Ji-seok (鄭智錫) as its next representatives, while Eom Tae-ung (嚴泰雄) will retire after a long 43-year tenure. Their formal appointments are expected to be decided following the shareholders' meeting in March next year.
Korea's Samyang Group announced on the 2nd that it had designated 2 internal candidates as its next representative directors. The personnel changes emphasize organizational stability and management by internal talent, and the candidates will formally take office following the regular shareholders' meeting in March next year.
Vice President Kim Ji-seop (金智燮) was designated representative director of Samyang Holdings, while Food Group Head Jeong Ji-seok (鄭智錫) was designated representative director of Samyang Corporation. Kim will become head of the Staff Group at Samyang Holdings while also serving as head of the Accounting Office. Jeong will change from acting head of the Food Group to formal head of the group.
Samyang Holdings Representative Eom Tae-ung (嚴泰雄) is expected to retire after completing 43 years in office. He is reported to have established a foundation for organizational restructuring and the expansion of the specialty food business. The acquisition of a Japanese flavor company in June last year is also regarded as an extension of this policy.
The personnel changes are characterized by avoiding external hires and placing talent developed internally at the forefront. The 2 new appointees have both built their careers at the same company for approximately 30 years since joining, and the company said it aims to stabilize operations by drawing on their expertise in finance and food.
