Through the acquisition, Mitsubishi Electric plans to incorporate assets for demand forecasting, optimization and trading support in response to the digitalization of power markets and the broader adoption of renewable energy, expanding its business into comprehensive service provision that includes operations and management.
Market participants view the major M&A transaction as a step toward raising the profile of a Japanese company in this field, while also pointing to the realization of earnings contributions and synergies through collaboration with other business divisions as key areas of focus.
Mitsubishi Electric expects revenue of ¥100 billion and an operating margin of 16% in fiscal 2026, and has set a target of expanding its energy solutions business to ¥200 billion in revenue and an operating margin of 28% in fiscal 2030.
