The enterprise AI-driven development solution “ALSEA” was announced by IBM Japan, providing standardized context for large-scale development. The service is scheduled to launch on 15 July 2026 in combination with IBM Bob.
The enterprise AI-driven development solution “AI Lifecycle Shared Engineering Artifacts: ALSEA (Alisea)” was announced on 14 April 2026, with availability for pilot projects beginning on the same day. ALSEA provides five types of enterprise context designed to standardize quality and improve reproducibility in large-scale development.
ALSEA is designed to establish a collaborative framework in which AI and humans work together on design, implementation, testing and operations, based on the premise that AI has accurate context, including background information, context and decision-making criteria. Particular importance is placed on developing elements such as prompts that define the chain of command, long-term memory and integration with external tools.
IBM Japan is addressing the needs of large-scale enterprise development by combining ALSEA with IBM Bob. ALSEA provides standard processes, deliverable templates, rules, guides and commands, creating a framework for AI-agent-driven development support. It targets a 35% reduction in labor requirements and a 30% shortening of development timelines by the end of 2027.
The format for general availability is still under consideration, and the formal service format and additional implementation examples are expected to be announced at a later date. ALSEA, together with IBM Bob, is described as helping promote investment in the skills and organizational transformation needed to make AI work correctly.
