Japan Chemicon is said to command the global market for aluminum electrolytic capacitors, which are used by the thousands in AI servers, attracting attention alongside the rise in related stocks in June this year.
In June this year, as AI server-related stocks rose across the board, Japan Chemicon, an electronic components manufacturer whose share price had risen approximately fivefold over the previous year, attracted attention. Its core product, aluminum electrolytic capacitors, is said to hold the leading share of the global market.
As an indispensable component, with thousands used in each AI server, aluminum electrolytic capacitors store large amounts of electrical energy and help stabilize voltage around power supply units and in circuits surrounding GPUs. MLCCs, by contrast, are compact components with a layered structure, used to reduce surrounding noise and for other purposes.
It is said that almost exclusively Japanese manufacturers can supply aluminum electrolytic capacitors to AI servers, making the stability of the supply system a key focus of technological developments.
