The record was the first-ever recognition in the relevant Guinness World Records™ category, and an official recognition certificate presentation ceremony was held on the same day. PPIH has long operated under a customer-first principle and has continued to grow primarily through its discount-store business centred on Don Quijote.
The Group is expanding its store network in Japan and overseas. In Japan, it is developing its business across all 47 prefectures, while overseas expansion includes the United States, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong. It is also pursuing further growth through a store concept centred on CV+D+A.
In the company’s corporate history, the business began as a “Thieves’ Market” and, following the opening of its first Fuchu Don Quijote store in 1989, expanded into products including the private brand “Jounetsu Kakaku” and the electronic money service “majica.”
