Kioxia’s second-quarter results for fiscal 2026 set new records, with revenue of ¥4.2471 trillion and operating profit of ¥3.2647 trillion. The share price plunged the following day, while market reaction was divided over the flat third-quarter outlook.
Kioxia Holdings, a major memory semiconductor manufacturer, reported revenue of ¥4.2471 trillion for April–September 2026, up 5.3 times year on year, and operating profit of ¥3.2647 trillion, up 25 times, both record highs. CFO Kawamura Yoshihiko (河村 芳彦) said the company was “showing remarkable growth across all applications.”
The strong performance was driven by a sharp increase in DRAM demand and tight NAND supply. Revenue from products for data centers and enterprise customers expanded 560% year on year to ¥1.6160 trillion. Shipments in July–September 2026 increased by 10% or more from April–June, while the selling price rose by approximately 21% over the same period.
However, on 2 November, the next business day after the results announcement, the share price fell more than 15% from the previous day to ¥11,345. The market was said to be dissatisfied with the company’s flat earnings forecast for the third quarter of fiscal 2026. Third-quarter revenue is forecast to rise 1% year on year to ¥2.5000 trillion, while operating profit is forecast to remain flat at ¥1.9950 trillion.
