Nomura Holdings announced its results for the interim period of the fiscal year ending March 2027. Revenue rose 24.6% year on year to ¥1.2942 trillion, net income increased 26.8% to ¥249.3 billion, and ROE remained high at 13.3%.
Nomura Holdings' results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027 showed total revenue, after deducting financial expenses, up 24.6% year on year to ¥1.2942 trillion, while net income attributable to owners of the company rose 26.8% to ¥249.3 billion. First-half ROE was 13.3%, exceeding the “10–12% plus” level set out in its 2030 management vision.
Second-quarter results alone declined from the previous quarter's record level, but ROE was maintained at 10.9%, achieving the target range for the second consecutive quarter. By segment, Wealth Management led the results with pretax profit of ¥136.7 billion, while Investment Management, Wholesale and Banking also remained solid.
In October, demand for long-term asset management in the Wealth Management segment continued at a high level, while improving the expense ratio was identified as a challenge for Wholesale. Moriuchi (森内) emphasized strengthening the earnings base to achieve ROE of 13.3%, citing a dividend payout ratio of at least 40% and a total payout ratio of at least 50% as capital policy targets.
Against a backdrop of interest in the future expansion of overseas asset management and changes in domestic fund flows, the company indicated that collaboration between Wealth Management and Investment Banking could expand growth opportunities.
