The Ginza-born brand GINZA TOKYO offers the traditional Japanese confectionery 菓樂 -GARAKU- monaka and green tea 華樂 -KAGURA-. It reports that online sales have begun and that a permanent store is planned for Tokyo this autumn.
The new brand GINZA TOKYO aims to redefine Japan’s traditional food culture through a contemporary sensibility, offering the monaka 菓樂 -GARAKU- Omakase Monaka® and Japanese green tea 華樂 -KAGURA-. Sales of selected products through its online store will begin on 11 August 2026, with plans to open a physical store in Tokyo in the future.
The brand’s signature product is a distinctive monaka in which the shells and fillings are packaged separately. Its hand-baked-style production method, use of domestically sourced ingredients and focus on ingredients with limited additives are highlighted. The premium gift box sold through the e-commerce site offers multiple combinations of shells and fillings.
The ¥5,400 premium gift box includes shell-and-filling sets in combinations such as “plain shell × plain filling” and “matcha shell × matcha filling.” The matcha combinations also come with matcha powder for adding extra matcha.
The Japanese tea 華樂 -KAGURA- is made from tencha green tea leaves produced in Makinohara. It comes in a 375 ml bottle housed in a Japanese cedar box and is priced at ¥27,000. It is presented as a high-quality bottled green tea featuring a gold-leaf gimmick, with plans indicated to expand distribution beyond online sales in the future.
