Zennmu Tech surged in afternoon trading after announcing that Resonac Holdings had built an MI platform using the secure computation library “QueryAhead,” enabling the use of materials development data while maintaining confidentiality.
The platform was demonstrated jointly with Chemical Manufacturer A, a partner of Resonac, confirming that each company’s highly confidential data could be used for analysis without disclosure.
In the demonstration, the prediction error for materials properties was reduced by approximately 78% using data from both companies, compared with using conventional data alone. While the importance of data use is increasing in the chemical industry, intellectual property and confidentiality protection remain challenges, and the approach is attracting attention as a new option.
Initiatives aimed at enabling both industry-wide data sharing and confidentiality protection are expected to draw attention going forward.
