Despite a sharp decline in the Nikkei average, 17 stocks rose against the market trend to hit new all-time highs since listing, including Kewpie Corporation and AUTOSERVER.
The Nikkei Stock Average fell sharply today amid declines in U.S. stocks and the outlook for interest rates, but some individual stocks showed a "sky-high" pattern, with 17 companies hitting new all-time highs since listing. Attention is focused on the factors behind the continuing share-price gains and the performance of certain stocks.
Among the main stocks hitting new all-time highs since listing, Kewpie Corporation announced price increases for household and commercial products shipped from 1 November, and its stock was observed to hit a new all-time high since listing. AUTOSERVER's August ASNET transaction volume exceeded the prior-year level for the third consecutive month, apparently attracting buying in part of the market.
In addition, 6 companies, including Fuji Oil, have continued to hit new highs on successive days. The stocks concerned were mainly newly listed stocks as of January 2024 and included stocks listed on the TSE Prime, Standard and Growth markets.
