Mizuho Securities President Hamamoto Yoshiro (浜本吉郎) said the company will strengthen its capital and business alliance with Rakuten Securities Holdings and PayPay Securities and broadly acquire customers online, while focusing on acquiring affluent customers.
Mizuho Securities President Hamamoto Yoshiro (浜本吉郎) told Mainichi Shimbun in an interview conducted by the 15th that the company will strengthen collaboration with Rakuten Securities Holdings, with which it has a capital and business alliance, and PayPay Securities, with which it collaborates, and acquire a broad range of customers online. He also said Mizuho Securities intends to focus on acquiring affluent customers.
Regarding asset management services for general customers, he said AI has become more capable than humans and indicated that the company intends to leave its online operations to Rakuten. He also expressed the view that the area in which Mizuho Securities can thrive is the online sector.
