Gunma Bank opened a new branch consolidating its 2 branches in Maebashi into 1 location. Daishi Hokuetsu Bank's Maebashi-Higashi Branch is also scheduled to move in in April 2027, as the 2 banks proceed with joint operations.
Gunma Bank began operating its Katakai Branch and Maebashi-Higashi Branch in Maebashi as a single new branch. The new branch has 2 floors and a total floor area of approximately 1,547 square meters. Approximately 244 square meters, excluding Gunma Bank's shared space, will serve as the Daishi Hokuetsu Bank branch area.
The new branch was built adjacent to Gunma Bank's former Katakai Branch, consolidating the Maebashi-Higashi and Katakai branches. Gunma Bank will assign approximately 30 employees, while Daishi Hokuetsu Bank will assign approximately 10.
The new branch began operations on the 13th. Before its opening, Gunma Bank President Fukai Akihiko (深井 彰彦) and Daishi Hokuetsu Bank Executive Officer Ishizaka Takashi (石坂 貴) toured the facility. Daishi Hokuetsu Bank's Maebashi-Higashi Branch is scheduled to move in in April 2027, and the 2 banks are proceeding with joint operations.
President Fukai and Executive Officer Ishizaka said they expect synergies to be created by consolidating resources in a joint branch.
