Japan Communications Inc. announced that it would delay the launch of its full MVNO service by approximately 5 months. The delay is attributed to the identification of technical issues, including interconnection with the NTT DOCOMO network, and the service is expected to be launched after connection testing with each operator has been completed.
On 28 October, Japan Communications Inc. announced that it would delay the launch of its full MVNO service, based on interconnection with NTT DOCOMO’s voice communications and SMS networks, by approximately 5 months. The company explained that the agreement had been concluded on 27 July 2026 following interconnection testing and that use of the DOCOMO network was progressing.
The delay is attributed to the identification of “technical issues” in interconnection, including with fixed-line voice operators. The company indicated that the new service must be launched after the issues are resolved and connection testing is completed, and said it expected the launch to be delayed by about 5 months from the originally scheduled date of 24 November. The impact on earnings is expected to be minor.
The service was originally scheduled to launch on 24 May 2026, but its launch was postponed to 24 November in a disclosure made in November 2025, making this the second delay. The company said it would announce the new launch date after rescheduling the interconnection testing schedule with each operator.
Japan Communications Inc. had announced Neo Career’s new brand “blue mobile” in July 2026, but said that the actual service is expected to launch in or after April 2027.
