Mitsubishi Corporation and Medipal Holdings entered into a business alliance agreement on 7 August to promote a new, comprehensive collaboration covering the healthcare, food and daily necessities sectors. The companies will expand the scope of their collaboration beyond their existing medical business and seek to deepen it.
The equity stakes in MC Healthcare Holdings will change from 80% for Mitsubishi Corporation and 20% for Medipal to 50% each. The two companies will work as joint management partners to enhance the value of MC Healthcare Holdings.
Under the alliance, Mitsubishi Corporation’s industry expertise and global network will be combined with the Medipal Group’s distribution network and relationship base with medical institutions to expand MC Healthcare Holdings’ customer base from large hospitals to small and midsize hospitals and clinics. The companies will use their pharmaceutical expertise and logistics networks to improve the operating efficiency of medical institutions and strengthen a stable supply system for regional healthcare.
The companies also plan to promote collaboration by expanding the logistics partnership between Mitsubishi Shokuhin and PALTAC, creating opportunities to develop and invest in new businesses, and facilitating personnel exchanges between the two groups, with the aim of building a sustainable platform.
