Triumph Motorcycles Japan officially announced the new 400cc models, the Bonneville T40 and T40 Black. The T40 series is the sixth 400cc model, bringing the lineup to 7 models.
The engine is a latest-generation liquid-cooled 400cc TR-series single-cylinder unit, producing maximum power of 31 PS at 7,000 rpm and maximum torque of 36 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The standard specification features a character with a relatively low idle speed, while the design retains traditional Bonneville styling.
Electronic equipment includes a 4-inch full-colour TFT display, cornering ABS, cornering traction control and riding modes consisting of Road, Rain, Eco and 2 custom modes. Smartphone connectivity, navigation through the Triumph Navigation App, cruise control and an emergency deceleration warning function are also included.
The seat height is 790 mm, with a low-seat option and genuine accessories planned for future release. The weight is 191 kg, and the design allows the height to be lowered to 770 mm depending on the attachment used.
