Suzuki announced an outlook for consolidated operating profit of ¥540 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2027, down 13% year on year. The forecast is ¥30 billion below its previous forecast. Higher raw material costs resulting from escalating tensions in the Middle East are affecting results.
For the April–June 2026 quarter, consolidated revenue rose 22% year on year to ¥1.7057 trillion, while net income increased 80% to ¥183.6 billion.
After the earnings announcement, Suzuki's share price temporarily fell about 5% from the previous day in the Tokyo market, reaching ¥1,806 in 2 p.m. trading.
Although higher unit sales and the boost to performance from the weaker yen had a positive effect, the impact of the Middle East situation was cited as a factor weighing on profit.
